“Mom, I had an idyllic childhood.” That is a comment from Marc, a North Star Boys’ Choir alum who sang for six years under the direction of Francis Stockwell and Craig Anderson. Through generous scholarships provided to the choir, Marc was able to go on tours, compete in the 2012 World Choir Games, and travel throughout Europe during the summer.
The recent pandemic nearly decimated the performing arts world; indeed, we continue to hear of the tragic closures of community-based groups due to COVID-19 and the resulting loss of funding.
But the North Star Boys Choir is hanging on! With a determined will to survive, the staff, parents, and the boys of the choir adapted to the changes and kept going. However, the pandemic did take a toll on our families and community, with some losing income due to job loss or reduced hours.
Your generous gift of $50, $100 or more through November 17th will help us rebuild our scholarship fund so more boys can express, “Mom, I had an idyllic childhood.”
Together, we can make sure that every boy who wants to can sing in beautiful venues around the world. Thank you for your generous support! You can give today! Every gift is doubled.
Thank you so much for your generosity, Francis Stockwell and the North Star Boys' Choir
